Planning Commission

The Planning Commission meets for the purpose of discussing subdivision and land development applications, ordinance review, and other substantial matters as requested by the Board of Commissioners. The Springfield Township Planning Commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays (as needed) of every month at the Springfield Township Administration Building at 7:00 p.m. Refer to the Calendar of Upcoming Events for meeting agendas.

Planning Documents


A Comprehensive Plan provides an overall vision for the community and serves as a guide for township leaders as they make land use policy decisions. It provides a framework for the zoning, subdivision and land development ordinances, planning for capital improvements, and redevelopment.

A comprehensive planning document that represents broad research of parks and recreation in Springfield Township, and includes an analysis of the condition and operation of these resources.  Adopted January 14, 2009.

Description: Identifies strategies for enhancing the Bethlehem Pike corridor in Flourtown and Erdenheim.  Adopted as an amendment to the Township's Comprehensive Plan October 11, 2006.
Description: Provides a general blue print and reference guide for future public and private improvements along Bethlehem Pike.  Prepared October 2008.
