- About Us
The Flourtown, Oreland and Wyndmoor Fire Companies provide fire and rescue services to the residents of Springfield Township. In addition, each fire company provides assistance to surrounding communities during large-scale incidents. All three organizations are made up of dedicated men and women who volunteer their time and energy to protect their neighbors from fire and other life threatening situations.
These men and women devote hundreds of hours a year to train and be prepared for the various situations they may encounter. Their training includes fire suppression, vehicle extrication, CPR, first aid, water rescue and hazardous material awareness, just to name a few. It also costs several thousand dollars to provide fire protection equipment for each firefighter, and several hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase fire apparatus (trucks).
The Township provides only partial funding to the three fire companies to offset their operations. Each must raise funds to make up the difference. Every year the fire company that serves your neighborhood makes an annual appeal for donations. If you have not already responded to the most recent appeal, please take a moment to respond with a donation of any size. If you misplaced your request, or have not received one, please note that a donation can be made at any time as follows:
